The Pryor Area Chamber of Commerce, launched Leadership Pryor in 1995. Ten years later, the organization evolved into Mayes County Leadership Academy. Since the beginning of the leadership program, hundreds have graduated and are filling leadership roles in their businesses, civic clubs and non-profit organizations and throughout our communities.
The MCLA 2016-17 class will begin in October 2016. Most classes take place from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM on the second Thursday of the month.
Participants dedicate one day a month for nine months to sharpening their leadership skills, as they learn to appreciate how their own unique abilities, interests and talents might be used to address the issues and challenges that face our communities. Classes feature guest lecturers, experts in their respective fields, local and area tours, visits to places important to our community, leadership training, classroom participation, and an opportunity to connect with other civic minded individuals.
The PACC partners that help make MCLA happen, each year are: Oliver Dewey Mayor Foundation, MidAmerica Industrial Park and Northeast Technology Center.
