Two Pryor elementary schools have received National Blue Ribbon School designations
Pryor is served by the Pryor Public School District, which is comprised of two early learning education programs; three elementary schools for kindergarten through 6, one junior high serving grades 7 through 9, and one senior high school for grades 10 through 12. The district employs approximately 212 teachers in its system with a combined enrollment of 2,700 students.

Additionally, MidAmerica Industrial Park and community business leaders work closely with Pryor Public Schools, providing resources for the creation of programs, which develop skills that align with employer needs and the development of a strong and educated workforce for the future.
A comprehensive workforce development program engaging area stakeholders including business, industry, education, and service agencies has been created. MAIP has committed $3.5M for the continued development of the program in Pryor and other Mayes County school districts, which also leverages existing partner resources.
Since 2009 the community of Pryor has passed three public education bond issues totaling more than $60 million.
A privately- operated elementary school in Pryor is the William Bradford Christian School.
In addition, Rogers State University and Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology have campuses and education programs located on MAIP property, which offers a wide range of academic and upper level manufacturing courses. Northeast Technology Center (NTC), part of the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education System, has administrative offices in Pryor and its largest campus 5 miles west of Pryor on Highway 20. An NTC facility at MAIP focuses on manufacturing training. All campuses offer a wide range of programs for both full-time and part-time students, with emphasis on life-long learning endeavors.
