The beautiful scenery around Pryor attracts all who love nature and the outdoor life. An abundance of lakes, parks and waterfalls provide opportunities for anyone who enjoys nature walks, fishing and all water sports at their finest.

 

Pryor, which is located in the “Heart of Green Country”, less than 50 miles from more than 2,500 miles of lakeshore – is also just 10 minutes from Lake Hudson, one of Oklahoma’s most beautiful lakes and an angler’s paradise.

 

Discover Downtown Pryor – the vibrant heart of our community with blocks of unique locally-owned shops and boutiques. Take in a movie at the Allred Theater, a restored 1916 vaudeville movie house.

 

Stop by one of our restaurants for any meal, local home-style southern cooking and bar-b-que, as well as Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Continental Grills and major chain restaurants – something for every palate.

 

Visit the Old Katy Depot Museum or Rabbit Studio Gallery. Play a round of golf at     Pryor Creek Golf Course.

 

Pryor enjoys an abundance of lush parks, which include activities such as walking trails, playgrounds, picnic facilities and ball fields.

 

Whitaker Park, located in the center of the community, provides tennis courts, swimming pool, measured walking trail, fishing pond, sand volleyball and basketball courts, playgrounds and picnic pavilions. For one-of-a-kind treasures visit First Saturday Trader’s Day in the park from April through November. Whitaker Park is also home to Cowboy Trade Days and the National Cowboy Day Celebration on the 3rd weekend in July.

 

The latest addition to our park's system is Centennial Park, which was built to honor our state's Centennial Celebration in 2007.  The new park is home to a walking trail, picnic pavilion and lush gardens.

 

Pryor Creek Nature Trail, along Pryor Creek, is easy for walking, jogging and mountain bike riding.

 

Just outside of Pryor on Hwy 69: Visitors “Catch the Fever” at Oklahoma’s latest tourist attraction in music. The 400-acre concert venue features the 4-day Country Fever Music Festival in June and 3-day Rocklahoma in July.

 

Dry Gulch U.S.A., a replica of an old west town complete with 1880s historical buildings, steam engine trains and wagon rides, welcomes more than 60,000 visitors to the Christmas Train in December.

 

South on Hwy 69 MidAmerica Expo Center houses various events throughout the year and is available to the area communities and visitors.

 

Pryor hosts the Dam J.A.M. Bicycle Tour the first Saturday after Labor Day each year. You’ll experience lush countryside, well-paved, shady rural roads, DAM J.A.M.’s world-famous festive rest stops, and some of the best support of any bicycle ride...anywhere.

 

The Mayes County Fairgrounds hosts the ACRA/CRRA Rodeo Memorial Day weekend and the Mayes County Fair the weekend after Labor Day.
