Schools / EducationPryor's public school system is continually noted, throughout Oklahoma, for its quality and excellence. The district is comprised of four elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. Also one private school which provides education from kindergarten through the 12th grade.
Additionally, Pryor is proud to be the home of Thunderbird Youth Academy. The Oklahoma National Guard Youth Challenge quasi-military program provides the education, discipline and structure Oklahoma's "at risk" young people need to become contributing members of society.
Higher education facilities maintaining campuses in Pryor include: Northeast Technology Centers; Rogers State University, a four-year institution; and, OSU-Okmulgee.
A number of colleges and universities are located within 50 miles of Pryor, including: Northeastern Oklahoma State University, Northeast Oklahoma A&M, the University of Tulsa, Tulsa Junior College, the University Center at Tulsa, Oral Roberts University, OSU/Okmulgee Tech, Rogers State University, Tulsa Area Technology Center, and Northeast Technology Centers.
