Comprehensive study of housing, commercial, retail & hospitality markets in Pryor area completed.

Pryor Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Pryor, and Mayes County Project for Prosperity recently partnered to commission a comprehensive study of housing, commercial, retail and hospitality land use in Pryor and its environs. CDS | Spillette Strategic Urban Consulting Alliance was selected to conduct the study.

While each area of land use under consideration was studied separately, CDS | Spillette developed its overall framework of recommendations with a holistic view of Pryor and the area. Methods of gathering critical information included research.  However, the company also held focus group meetings, and had one-on-one discussions with local residents, business and industry leaders, store owners/managers and local stakeholders. Uniting these methods, a number of objectives emerged that presented synergistic opportunities for interrelated solutions.

Mayor Jimmy Tramel said, “We needed this study. The insights gained, combined with market data, will provide the basis for gaining a realistic understanding of our current conditions and moving toward setting attainable goals and developing a practical community plan as we move forward.”

“The results will provide the basis for a growth management plan designed to address current and future needs of development in the City of Pryor and its area, Tramel continued. “It will provide us with market-supported direction for our community.”

A full copy of the study is available to the public at either the City of Pryor offices or at the Pryor Area Chamber of Commerce, for $25.
